How to Use a Floor Polisher Properly
Cleaning wooden floors used to be time-consuming and laborious work. Just imagine you are on your knees and polishing the boards using a piece of cloth soaked with liquid floor wax. But now, you can say goodbye to this hassle by using an electric floor polisher. This handy machine can clean, scrub, wax, and sweep a large area of your floor in one action. However, a floor polisher is quite a powerful machine. If you do not know how to use it, you might damage the floor, ruin the machine, or hurt yourself. Here are some guidelines on how to properly use a floor polisher.
First, position and lock the handle in an upright position. While the handle is locked, tilt the machine fully until the rotating element is fully exposed. While holding the handle, install the rotating brush then position the machine upright again. After that, plug the power cord into a wall socket. Grip the machine firmly and turn it on by pulling the lever switch. When you do, the polisher will immediately swerve towards the direction of the brush's rotation, usually to the left. Complete the sweep then lift the handle. Doing so changes the direction of the pad's rotation and directs the machine to sweep to the right. Do not fight the polisher to go into the direction you want. Simply use this lowering-lifting action of the handle to make steering easier. If you want the polisher to stop, just let go of the lever switch.
Start from the back wall and slowly walk backwards toward the door until the entire area is polished. Once the entire area is done, sweep the remaining residue. Unplug the machine, remove the rotating brush, wind up the power cord, and store the polisher in a safe place.
